Inspiration for Print-Minded Creatives
A 32-year Long Graphic Design Magazine that Deserves more Buzz!
It’s no secret that creatives can find inspiration from great designers around the world with a click of a mouse, but how often do you get the world’s finest design showcased on some of the finest quality paper? Yes, print is still a thing, and idN magazine proves it with its dedication to experimenting with different paper stocks in different sections of its quarterly issues.
In circulation since 1992, many of the staff came from printing and design backgrounds, and appreciated quality paper.
From an interview with idN by Lucy Corkish: “We care about fluorescent inks, varying paper stocks, metallic hot foils, special varnish, laser diecuts, flocking and gatefolds more than you think.”
The company is maximalist in their layouts, sparing no space in their 150+ page issues, as they showcase not only from a variety of designers, but from a variety of designers with dense portfolios. Each issue hones in on a different topic, and these topics range from character design, restaurant graphics, logo and branding collateral, to typography, illustration, video game graphics, and more.
You’re sure to find something that suits your fancy, and if you’re a print fan, you’ll love the feel of the different papers they print on.
